From the 1991 Studio: June Mood Board
Now that I am back from my time out in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, I’m hunkering down in the studio to really refine 1991’s creative direction and the future ahead.
I suppose I’ve been feeling a bit “uninspired” by design because I have being spending so much time outside, enjoying nature, walking along rivers, fishing, and riding horses. But now that I’m back in the studio it’s time for me to hunker down and start designing the next collection of boots, and making moves to expand 1991 towards the direction I really desire.
With that being said, this is my current mood board in the studio. — Inspired by cottage whites, jute rugs, vintage cowboy hats, dainty florals, plaids and stripes.
Inspiration No.1:
I found this image on Pinterest today and I am just absolutely OBSESSED with this outfit and this entire look. I’m unsure where these images came from, I tried searching my hardest, I’m assuming it’s Ralph Lauren because it just gives off that vibe. — I am just loving the playfulness in color and yet how chic it looks with the cowgirl hat and the wild rag. <3 Absolutely LOVE this.
Inspiration No.2:
This photo, just sums up my design brain visually. I have been working on redesigning and sprucing up the 1991 office for summer, and this is just everything that I want the brand to represent in a nutshell. I am really leaning away from Western culture and leaning into a brand that stands for representing Country living and the lifestyle of living in the country.
Inspiration No.3:
Edwardian Slip Dresses are apparently a thing AND are unbelievably GORGEOUS. I’m in love. The details on this one are absolutely stunning. This vibe is such a cool vibe for summer, pair it with some 1991 Cowgirl Boots, such a vibe.
Inspiration No.4:
Baskets, rustic wood, dainty flowers and rugged barn jackets. Need I say more? <3
Inspiration No.5:
Cream whites, beige, camel suede, leather fringe and butter yellows. All things light and airy with chunky medal belts. Ralph Lauren Spring / Summer 2025.
Inspiration No.6:
Saddles. There is nothing more aesthetically pleasing than a handmade saddle with custom touches. Leather work, texture, metal conches, and saddle blankets. The pairings inspire me for texture, color and design.
Inspiration No.7:
The chic, western elegance of Ralph Lauren. Need I say any more?
Whenever I am in a creative rut, I look to his collections for guidance and it never steers me wrong
Inspiration No.8:
Fresh flowers. I cannot design without fresh flowers on my desk, it’s just a thing. And I’ve come to accept it.
